She wants stricter environmental safeguards before allowing the dairy to operate. The proposed dairy has ignited an ongoing controversy in Jo Daviess County. The County Board has cast an advisory vote against it and opponents have sued to stop it because of concerns large manure ponds planned for the site will cause pollution.”

- Belleville News Democrat— Village of Brooklyn accused of illegal dumping, “The village of Brooklyn allegedly dumped and burned a large pile of its customers’ trash in a vacant village-owned lot. The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s office filed an eight-count civil complaint against the village Tuesday for the illegal dumping at a property located at Eighth and Canal streets.”
